Special Olympics Delaware Fall Festival Returns to St. Andrew’s School This Halloween

MIDDLETOWN, Del. – As Fall Festival approaches, excitement is building for one of Special Olympics Delaware’s premier state competitions. Held annually at St. Andrew’s School in Middletown, Fall Festival brings together athletes, coaches, volunteers, families, and supporters from across Delaware for a day of competition, sportsmanship, and celebration.

This year, more than 580 athletes and Unified partners will compete in bocce, flag football, long distance running, soccer, and pickleball. More than 170 dedicated coaches will be there to support them. These coaches spend countless hours helping athletes develop new skills, build confidence, and prepare for competition.

“Fall Festival is a powerful reminder of what makes Special Olympics Delaware so special. When athletes, coaches, volunteers, families, and supporters come together, they create an environment where every athlete can succeed, belong, and shine.”, David Halley, President & CEO, Special Olympics Delaware

In addition to competition, Fall Festival will feature a Young Athletes Experience for children ages 2-7 with and without intellectual disabilities. Young Athletes introduces fundamental sport and movement skills through fun, inclusive activities designed to build confidence, coordination, and social connections. Families are invited to stop by, get active, and experience the joy of Special Olympics firsthand. We encourage families to sign-up for the Young Athletes Experience ahead of time, but walk-ups are welcome.

Events like Fall Festival are only possible because of the incredible support of coaches, volunteers, families, sponsors, and community partners. Their commitment helps create meaningful opportunities for athletes both on and off the field of play.
