MORE ABOUT SUMMER CAMP
Special Olympics Delaware’s overnight camp is a three-day, two-night camp held at Camp Barnes, which is located near Bethany Beach.
Special Olympics Delaware Camp Barnes is designed for athletes 14 and over who are currently active in our sports programs and competitions.

SESSION 2: August 9-11, 2026

Disclaimers
This is a fitness camp (i.e., swimming, kayaking, yoga, obstacle course) with frequent activity, and an athlete’s refusal to participate in activities may result in not being accepted for future camps.
Camp selections are made through a lottery system and the timing of when I complete this application has no affect on that process.
Campers must be able to handle hygiene needs with minimal or no support
Must have competed in and finished at least one of the last Fall, Winter, Spring or Summer seasons.

Volunteer Camp Counselors and Cabin Leaders Needed for Summer Camp
(14+ years old – no upper age limit)
Counselors are responsible for supervising (along with the Cabin Leaders) the 6-10 athletes assigned to their cabin. Counselors are expected to attend and participate in all activities and are expected to stay overnight in the cabins with their group.
