GET INVOLVED
Join us as an ATHLETE
Special Olympics supports athletes starting at age 2 and has no upper age limit. Athletes train for 8-10 weeks under the guidance of certified coaches before culminating their efforts at a final competition.

Join us as a COACH
The most popular volunteer role is that of a coach. A head coach must be at least 18 years of age. They are responsible for training a team over an 8-10 week period and any culminating and/or mid-season competitions. This role is supported by Assistant Coaches, Team Assistants, Unified Partners, and by the Sport Director.
Join us as a VOLUNTEER
More than 5,000 volunteers are the backbone of the Special Olympics Delaware movement. Volunteer opportunities are open to people of all ages, and your commitment can range from an afternoon to a lifetime. Event sizes range from small, community-based events to large, state-wide competitions, and everything in between.

Join us as a Law Enforcement Officer or Agency
Delaware Law Enforcement for Special Olympics is one of the organization’s largest grass‐roots public awareness and fundraising vehicles. Their year‐round commitment includes a combination of presenting medals at all competitions, volunteering in a variety of roles, as well as participating in several fundraising initiatives.
