Awards
Special Olympics Delaware takes pride in annually acknowledging outstanding contributions from individuals, as well as businesses and civic organizations, during its "Night of Heroes" celebration.
A signature event of the organization, "Night of Heroes" honors, among others, the organization’s Outstanding Athlete, Outstanding Program, Outstanding Volunteer, and Hall of Fame inductees. Former keynote speakers for the event have included Baltimore Orioles great Cal Ripken Jr. and Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro kicker David Akers.

Outstanding Volunteer: Joan Walsh, Dow
